Exciting opportunity for a Paralegal/legal assistant to join our growing team at the Ridgeland, MS office. This is a full-time position with an attractive salary and comprehensive benefits package. We are in search of a dedicated Paralegal to provide support to our personal injury trial attorneys at our bustling injury law and family law firm in Ridgeland, MS. Responsibilities will include trial preparation, drafting motions, court filings, managing calendars, scheduling, handling discovery, and other essential duties. The role will involve assisting with depositions, preparing witnesses, conducting research, and offering assistance to the attorney during court proceedings. Managing case documents pre and post-trial will also be a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and the ability to craft effective correspondence with opposing counsel and analyze medical records to effectively convey the case narrative. We welcome candidates with a proactive approach to case strategy and a passion for advocating for clients. A minimum of 1 year of paralegal experience in family law or personal injury law is required. Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite is essential, with experience in Apple computers considered a bonus. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain organized files and documents efficiently • Coordinate events and assignments effectively • Collaborate closely with court administrators and personnel • Assist clients in completing and submitting legal forms accurately • Prepare drafts of letters and simple court documents for attorney review • Compile reports and legal documents for attorney approval • Conduct comprehensive legal research on new issues, verify precedents, and analyze legislation • Gather and submit discovery materials • Coordinate client meetings to review discovery responses • Provide regular updates to clients and gather necessary information • Maintain accurate labeling and order of all file elements • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials • Support attorneys during courtroom proceedings • Prepare for and attend depositions professionally • Organize and categorize exhibits during depositions • Prepare and file court documents promptly • Draft and file correspondence and documents efficiently • Generate weekly and monthly reports diligently • Monitor e-filing, update files, answer phones, schedule appointments, and perform other assigned tasks • Provide updates to attorneys regarding cases and clients • Ability to determine, designate, and prioritize work tasks • Proactively work cases and anticipate the needs of attorneys • Effectively conduct legal research on various cases Qualifications: • To be considered for the Paralegal - Legal Assistant position in Ridgeland, MS, US, a minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal is required • Knowledge of E-filing procedures is a must-have for this role • Strong typing skills are essential for efficient performance in this position • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary • The ability to create pleadings and letters is a key requirement for the Paralegal - Legal Assistant role • A positive attitude is highly valued in candidates applying for this position • Previous experience as a Paralegal is a mandatory qualification for this opportunity • Ability to think outside the box • Solutions driven, hard worker • Ability to type 40 words per minute minimum • Ability to effectively communicate with upper management regarding reports and case statuses Compensation: $37,000 - $55,000 yearly

Compensation:
$37,000-$55,000 per year
