A healthcare network in New York City is currently seeking a new, licensed Gastroenterologist for a promising opportunity at one of their facilities in Manhattan. In this role, the Gastroenterologist will be providing for high-quality clinical care to the patients in the diverse communities that served.

About the Opportunity:

  • Department: Clinical
  • Compensation Package: Competitive pay; Medical, vision, and dental insurance; PTO benefits; Paid Holidays; 401k retirement plan; Malpractice coverage; CME time and allowance
    • Including bonuses, total compensation could equate up to $600k

Responsibilities:

The Gastroenterologist will be responsible for:
  • Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and chronic diseases and conditions in the field of Gastroenterology
  • Prescribing or administering medications, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
  • Explaining procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluating treatments, as necessary
  • Providing health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results
  • Referring patients to other medical specialists, when necessary
  • Providing compassionate and empathetic support and advice to patients regarding their health concerns
  • Preparing official health documents or records, when necessary
  • Participating in network activities, such as Provider meetings, Grand Rounds, and training sessions
  • Performing other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Internal Residency, Gastroenterology Fellowship and Board / Eligible Certified
  • Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of New York
  • DEA license
  • Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
