Job Summary: The Director of Communications and Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication/marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, stakeholder engagement, and systemic growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills across multiple arenas and a focus on managing communication. The Director will work to set marketing goals and ensure alignment with the overarching district plan, brand identity, and messaging while coordinating production, editing content, and drafting content as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Digital Product Development: Leadership within print media; digital media; publications; news releases; marketing/branding; social media management; website creation and maintenance
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency across all channels and platforms. Plan and execute integrated messaging, monitoring performance and optimizing for results
  • Digital Marketing: Drive digital marketing initiatives and content marketing to enhance online presence and engagement
  • Strategic Planning: As team leader, ensure successful implementation of overall educational strategies to align with community and school objectives and targets
  • Communication Leadership: Lead and mentor school teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement; manage crisis situations through collaboration with the Superintendent and leadership team
  • Collaboration: Work closely with all departments to ensure alignment of goals and initiatives, those housed within; perform work as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
  • Performance Tracking: Establish metrics and assume the responsibility to evaluate the effectiveness of communication/marketing efforts and report on results to leadership


Qualifications:
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and analytics
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in team leadership and team dynamics
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress or similar website development platforms, Google Suite, etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Assumes responsibility and ownership for work issues, problems, and performance
  • Experienced social media user with a deep understanding of popular social media platforms, trends, and digital communications strategies; willing to experiment with and learn best practices for new platforms required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
  • BCBI approval
