THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Environmental Project Manager to join the well-established team of environmental professionals, and with this role being based in our Edmonton AB, office.
The successful candidate will drive business development efforts while supporting the project management and technical team. Our project managers are the cornerstone of our company and are committed to outstanding client service. In this senior role you will be responsible for spearheading regional business development, managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, and providing mentorship to our project managers and project coordinators. Our clients include regional and multi-national O&G gas and mining companies; hydro and power companies; government agencies; and First Nations communities.

In this senior role you will be responsible for spearheading regional business development, managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, and providing mentorship to our project managers and project coordinators. Our clients include regional and multi-national O&G gas and mining companies; hydro and power companies; government agencies; and First Nations communities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintaining, establishing, and developing client relationships, that facilitate the successful delivery of projects and future opportunities.
- Developing a strategy to increase regional business.
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with other consultants, construction contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting corporate business development initiatives.
- Supporting project managers with business development (i.e., win strategy and proposal development).
- Leading RFP responses coming through our Edmonton office.
- Compiling and reporting on regional business development opportunities.
- Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks.
- Maintaining and supporting Triton's industry-wide reputation as a leader in the environmental consulting industry.
- Successfully managing project delivery through cost-efficient and timely completion of deliverables.
- Providing mentorship and training for our project managers and environmental professional team.
- Maintaining and improving upon Triton and client safety standards.
- Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the office, region, and between other areas of the organization.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
- Business development acumen (e.g., client relationships, strategic planning, proposal writing).
- Knowledge of and experience with provincial and federal environmental standards, and regulations or guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in project management (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control) and leading and supervising of project teams.
- A quick learner, easily adapting to new software applications, systems, and business processes.
- Effective writing skills and ability to produce meaningful reports and proposals.
- Organized and self-managed, with a collaborative working style.
- Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with strong strategic thinking skills.
- Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with a professional governing body recognized in Alberta (P.Biol., P.Ag., AScT.) is an asset.
