Title: Account Director

Reports to: VP, Sales, The Hill

Salary: $100K - 225K (commensurate with experience)

Location: DC

Position Summary:

The Account Executive is responsible for achieving sales performance, meeting, and exceeding revenue and growth targets for Nexstar's The Hill and advocacy business. Will build go to market strategies for the Hill while leveraging NN and the portfolio. Will have overall responsibility selling digital, events, newsletters, and print. Will work to ensure Nexstar as a 'must-buy' for advertisers across all platforms. Will achieve revenue goals. that they have responsibility for the digital, events, newsletters and print.

Responsibilities include:
  • Will grow Nexstar's The Hill and advocacy business.
  • Deliver sales performance, sales targets and growth prospects as well as monetization (pricing, inventory) opportunities, etc.
  • Seek new advertisers to drive endemic revenue and build sponsorship packages.
  • Will have overall responsibility selling digital, events, newsletters, and print.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets.
  • Will have an in-depth knowledge of the political advertising landscape with the ability to build and expand business.
  • Will help develop and execute the go to market strategy for the political sector to capture early revenue opportunities.
  • Achieve individual quota and sales targets.
  • Will partner with agencies and clients directly:
    • responsible for selling the Hill and NN digital and linear inventory; will leverage the portfolio where possible.
    • will focus on advocacy sales (brands & causes) that push an agenda to shape legislation.
    • leverage The Hill brand cache across the digital network
    • Build and manage relationships with key clients and agency partners
    • capture more strategic high-value opportunities with DC shops/agencies.
    • create differentiation in market to drive leadership

  • Ensure pipeline management and sales goals are met and provide a point of view on how to accelerate growth.
  • Cultivate new business and collaborate across the organization to grow existing business.
  • Will nurture and enhance relationships to become a more advanced resource for our clients.

About you:
  • 10+ years' experience in advertising, media, and relevant sales management roles
  • Political/advocacy sales experience required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Video sales experience
  • Proven track record translating partnerships into results
  • Extensive experience in linear and digital advertising sales
  • Established relationships with key agency and client contacts within the market
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to develop and present strategic updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships
  • Must have strong relationships within the political category
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (outside NYC)
