Structural Engineer

Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a growing multi-disciplined engineering firm, is seeking a resourceful, self-motivated and experienced Structural Engineer with the ability to provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele. Applications for this position are primarily sought for State College, PA and Syracuse, NY, but will also be considered for several of B&L's other office locations - Buffalo, Rochester, and Albany. The position offers excellent career growth and advancement potential for the selected individual.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2-6 years of diverse consulting engineering or construction experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects. Candidates should possess acute analytical skills, the capability to perform design as part of a team on small to large projects, manage their time with respect to tasks and budgets, and have a well-versed technical background across multiple facets of structural engineering related to concrete, steel, masonry and wood design. Specific tasks could include: structural calculations using design software and spreadsheets; existing conditions/construction reviews in the field; production of bid documents; specification editing and technical report writing. Specific areas of expertise could include: design and detailing of structural components/systems; foundation and retaining walls; reviewing shop drawings; and perform quantity takeoffs to develop construction cost estimates. Communication and writing skills are beneficial to accomplish synergistic interaction with team leaders and co-workers/staff. Software capabilities must include Microsoft Office platform, AutoCAD and/or Revit. Technical capabilities must include a strong working knowledge in industry standards such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE as well as State building codes. Additionally, a broad familiarity with the work of other project team members, including architects, electrical, mechanical and civil engineers is helpful to allow for effective, integrated and well-coordinated project design solutions.
This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on dynamic, challenging projects that incorporate innovative and unique goals and objectives. The candidate should have, or be on track to obtain, their PE licensure. Additional industry certifications are considered a plus.
Estimated Pay Range: $75,000-90,000/year.
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
