The Work:
The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) works as a liaison between development and IT operations to ensure the efficient functioning of computer systems. The SRE will oversee the Tier 1-3 Help Desk to drive incident and outage management, investigation, and restoration activities. Create alerts from the ground-up to monitor and manage systems trends to improve performance, prevent incidents, and leverage SOPs to respond to system alerts. Analyze, track, and facilitate acceptance of changes to production environments. Operate information technology production services according to management protocols and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Able to provide solutioning and improvement proposals across teams and leadership. Document outcomes of incidents and assess end user impacts of technical incidents.
- Prepare validated Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) for fielded software and distribute upon approval to System Administrators (SAs).
- Monitor, escalate, and respond to trouble tickets to help ensure timely resolution and support of SAs.
- Investigate and attempt to resolve critical issues when they cannot be immediately resolved by the COTS vendor or other mission partner program offices.
- Create and track vendor and mission partner program office help desk tickets and associate with program tickets to ensure tracking of resolutions across programs.
- Provide instructions to resolutions system tickets/issues/problems
- Support the IAVA process to include the identification, research, installation, regression testing, and packaging for distribution of all applicable IAVA patches.
- Plan and perform fault management, configuration management, configuration control, and performance monitoring
- Conduct installation, activation, back-up, deactivation, and restart of network resources/services
- Instruct users on the installation and support of software applications and related software/capability solutions
- Provide technical assistance, support, and advice to customers/users via telephone, video chat, email, text messaging, ticket entry, and MS Teams collaboration worldwide or onsite visit as directed.
- Provide instruction regarding how to maintain the suite of capabilities, how to plan, coordinate, and implement security measures, how to navigate troubleshooting techniques, and how to resolve complex issues in collaboration with SAs.
Here's What You Need:
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of operating systems, storage subsystems, and networking environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing best practices for availability, reliability and scalability, with varied interests in algorithms and distributed systems.
- Experience provide support to service engineers with customer incidents.
- Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
- Experience with distributed storage technologies such as NFS, HDFS, Ceph, and Amazon S3, as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Apache Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
- US Citizenship required.
- Secret clearance required or ability to obtain.

- Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
- Demonstrated experience as primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related discipline
- Previous success in technical engineering
- Coding experience beyond simple scripts
- Experience with MHS applications, tools, and network infrastructures.
- Experience supporting Army medical applications on Army networks.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
