Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists in our Hartford, CT office for a mid-level Project Scientist/Geologist/Engineer to assist on a variety of site investigation, remediation, and construction projects and due diligence assessments.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating, conducting, and reporting on field work including drilling and construction oversight, monitoring well installation oversight, sediment, soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling, stormwater and waste characterization sampling.
- Compiling and evaluating analytical data compared to applicable CT RSRs
- Preparing Phase I / II / III Environmental Site Assessments and summary reports, soil management plans, remedial action plans, environmental condition assessment forms, and various other regulatory program deliverables in accordance with applicable state guidance and regulations.
- Assisting with the preparation project scopes, budgets and proposals.
- Coordinating and communicating effectively with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
- Preparing health and safety plans and serving as a site health and safety officer.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong familiarity with CT DEEP environmental regulations, guidance documents and remediation programs (including the property transfer act program) is essential
- Interest in pursuing LEP within 5 years preferred
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER required
- Ability to complete assignments independently and delegate work / lead and a team when necessary
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Self-starter who is proactive and can identify daily needs and assist as necessary to meet client assignments.
- Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and willingness to travel occasionally
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required
- B.S. (M.S. a plus) degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience with site assessments, site investigation and remediation, and knowledgeable of CT RSRs and CT DEEP guidance documents
