About the Role

The Business Development Representative III is responsible for the complete sales cycle with an aim to maximizing revenue, Net Gross Profits and Customer satisfaction by developing deep relationships with key people in the supplier organization & partners. The Business Development Representative III demonstrates strong business and financial acumen, leadership skills, and effective communication and influencing abilities.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying new partnership opportunities.
  • Proactively seek out and explore potential partnership opportunities, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Track and manage the vendor pipeline, including identifying and qualifying leads, and moving opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely follow-up and accurate reporting on vendor-related activities.
  • Provide vendor training sessions as an SME, ensuring partners have a strong understanding of products and programs.
  • Act as a lead go-to person for sales personnel, providing support and guidance in dealing with customer inquiries, sales strategies, and business development opportunities.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to secure profitable partnerships and agreements.
  • Manage the profit and loss (P&L) aspects of deals to ensure financial viability and profitability.
  • Continuously explore and develop new strategies and approaches to uncover business opportunities.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Assist in per development, training, & coaching; lead on complex issues
  • Attend industry specific business trainings from vendors .


What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years experience working as a state and local government professional or IT Administrator in state and local government.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Capable of following instructions, operating common office equipment, and performing accurate data entry.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations and demonstrates complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages, including formal presentations and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with high levels of management and collaborate with diverse individuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a commitment to task completion.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Upholds social, ethical, and organizational standards with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Skilled multitasker with strong relationship-building skills and empathy.
  • Comfortable with prolonged phone use and extended periods of immobility, standing, or walking.
  • Quick learner with proficiency in new systems and technology, including advanced computer skills.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours or overtime occasionally.
  • Able to work in a professional office or remote environment.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) for brand product, technology solutions and/or offerings for state and local government vertical.
  • Responsible for the execution of the strategic customer growth plans and business relationships in assigned account(s) by providing value added solutions.
  • Identifies and creates opportunity demand for state and local government products, coordinating the supporting seminars, training and resource awareness to assigned customers that drives growth plan success in the targeted accounts for state and local government vertical.
  • Performs analysis and reports results of various program impact for identified customer(s) notifying the AM of success, issues and future growth plan strategies
  • Maintains and drives trending knowledge of products, competitors, technology and customers in the assigned supplier product market of state and local government.
  • Subject Matter expert serves for both vendors/resellers
  • Value add of teaming vendors together for full solutions
  • Partnerships forged and built with Vendor reps and resellers at multiple TD Synnex, reseller, and other end user events
  • Training, marketing, and presenting the advantage of vendors to state and local government resellers/end users
  • Marketing the healthcare security vendor solutions internally with TD SYNNEX sales reps
  • TD SYNNEX Speaking Engagements - Presenting to resellers around the country, with solutions in hand, at TD SYNNEX events regarding the advantage of implementing the state and local government portfolio solutions
  • Reseller Speaking Engagements - Presenting the same message to end users at conferences sponsored by resellers nationwide (Public Sector Technology Summits)
  • Expansion of Business - Expanding reseller business plans with state and local government vertical solutions
  • Conferences - Ability as Subject Matter Experts to work with vendors at key end user Federal and SLED conferences relative to state and local government market
  • Committee Members - Subject Matter experts serve on end user SLED committees and members of end user associations
  • Continuing updates to vendors/resellers on most current trends in state and local government vertical.
  • Mastery knowledge of assigned product / service line as well as those of the entire organization.
  • Can move fluidly among product / service lines and be equally effective.
  • Works on a cross-section of the largest and/or most important accounts with the highest degree of complexity and variability.
  • Works under almost full autonomy and latitude.
  • Has broad discretion in determining priorities and best approach to sales and service responsibilities.
  • Builds and maintains a strong network of colleagues and customers to share information and increase sales.
  • Acts as a consultant to management on sales strategy.
