MTC MAINTENANCE / TOOLING TECHNICIAN
THE MTC MAINTENANCE / TOOLING TECHNICIAN WILL . . .
- Junior to mid-level machinist capable of fabricating tooling and fixturing based off engineering drawings using a variety of equipment, both automated and manual.
- Capable of developing machining strategies that contribute to the fabrication of MTC product per a production schedule.
- Able to design machining and grinding fixtures to hold material in place securely while being machined or ground.
- Performs other work involving multiple manufacturing processes, including heat treat furnaces, automated assembly equipment, and laser cutters, in accordance with customer and internal specifications and work order instructions.
- Performs inspection on components in accordance with published Standard Operating Procedures and Production Work Instructions.
- Actively contributes to writing and/or modifying Standard Operating Procedures and Production Work Instructions.
- Monitors and maintains material inventories.
- Maintains strict material traceability controls on incoming, outgoing, and in-process material.
- Maintains and assists others in maintaining a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
- Performs mid-level maintenance activities on production equipment.
- Observes all safety-related rules and regulations and provides feedback to site management on potential safety concerns. Actively participates in driving a culture of Safety on the manufacturing floor.
- Strictly follows all Carpenter rules and regulations regarding environmental compliance.
- Utilizes designated software to document and report production work.
- Participates in and contributes to quality audits, both customer and internal.
- Participates in and leads site improvement projects.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with computer-controlled multi-axis machining centers.
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other manual methods of machining and fabrication.
- Wire EDM experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Ability to work under little supervision.
- Ability to organize and prioritize simple tasks and make appropriate decisions under little supervision.
- Applies knowledge and skills to complete a variety of day-to-day activities within own area or department.
- Ability to perform work of a diversified and more complex nature.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Moderate problem-solving skills.
