Friendswood Animal Clinic, located in Friendswood, TX is seeking to hire an Associate Veterinarian to join our practice.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local referral practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suites, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, diagnostic ultrasound exams, and a closely supervised hospitalization area. Our hospital is situated between Houston and Galveston with a population of approximately 50,000. We provide primary care, in-clinic daytime hospitalization, in-clinic diagnostic capabilities, and excellent client communication. ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
• Large facility with eight exam rooms, 2 table surgical suite, a large treatment room with 3 wet/dental tables, and a large Doctor's Office.
• In-House laboratory includes Idexx Procyte DX, Idexx Catalyst DX, full urinalysis with sediments, PCV, TP, blood smear differentials, skin and ear cytology, SPEC CPL, 4DX HW, FELV/FIV, and Parvo snap testing, all performed by technicians.
• Idexx Laboratories for all outside bloodwork with results the next day.
• Located 15 minutes from Bay Area Veterinary Specialists and 45 minutes from Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists.
• Large pharmacy inventory with the latest in veterinary medicine.
• Isoflurane anesthesia, Pulse Oximetry, ECG's and 2 ultrasonic dental machines.
• Digital x-ray and digital dental x-ray
• Highly educated staff, upbeat and capable which allows us to work at a fast pace with the assurance that we are providing great quality medicine in a fun and enjoyable environment.
• Paper light record keeping with full computers in each exam room with Avimark software.
• Our senior doctors have a wide breadth of experience and are very willing to share their knowledge and discuss caseloads. They are happy to assist when asked, while encouraging new associates' independence.

Job Summary
In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with a Managing Doctor and supporting medical staff. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.
Job Responsibilities
• Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
• Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
• Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
• Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
• Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
• Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is to be employed.
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
