We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Proposal Director to lead our proposal development efforts and secure new business opportunities.

This critical role plays a pivotal role in driving our success by overseeing the creation of winning proposals for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and task orders.

Team Size: 3-5 Proposal staff including a proposal coordinator and writers.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the proposal development process, ensuring proposals are compliant, competitive, and compelling.
  • Oversee and manage proposal teams, including proposal managers and writers, to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality proposals.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical leads, and capture managers to develop winning solutions and effectively communicate our capabilities.
  • Lead the development of repeatable proposal solutions to increase operational efficiency and reduce proposal development timelines.
  • Drive the development and implementation of proposal automation tools, such as resource management catalogues, to streamline the proposal process and minimize manual effort.
  • Partner with the FedCiv IT BD VP and capture director to identify key areas for automation that align with new business development priorities.
  • Manage proposal budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to schedules.
  • Develop and implement processes for proposal development, fostering continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Interface with clients and government agencies to understand requirements and develop tailored proposals that meet their specific needs.
  • Conduct proposal reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure proposals are clear, concise, and persuasive.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in proposal development.
  • Champion team growth and development, by providing coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities for proposal managers and writers.
  • Work collaboratively with the BD VP and capture director to identify and develop talent pipelines for future proposal leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 15+ years of experience or a Masters Degree and 13+- years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in proposal management.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing proposal teams to win significant contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing winning proposals for complex projects
  • Excellent understanding of government contracting regulations and proposal requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management tools.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with federal proposals and leading writing teams
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring proposal managers and writers.
  • Experience in developing and implementing proposal automation tools.

Pay Range: Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
