Asbury Court is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with established nursing care procedures, state and federal guidelines, and as directed by the supervisor. Responsibilities
* Answer call lights and responds to resident needs in a timely manner
* Provides for personal hygiene needs, including: bath, linen, oral hygiene/denture care, hair care/shampoo, etc.
* Assists in the preparation, serving, and feeding of the correct diet, to the appropriate resident.
* Changes bed linen in the appropriate manner, and is knowledgeable in techniques for making an occupied and unoccupied bed.
* Admits residents and assists with the adjustment of new residents to the facility.
* Transfer resident in a room change.
* Assists in discharge of resident.
* Obtains vital signs: temperature
* Turns and repositions residents, using appropriate repositioning devices.
* Provides bowel and bladder care.
* Provides appropriate body mechanics and positioning, assisting in activities to maintain maximum body functions.
* Utilizes appropriate safety devices and precautions, including use of transfer belts, lifting equipment, and safe lifting techniques.
* Documents vital signs, intakes and outputs, catheter care, weights, BMs and results of restorative interventions on the resident's chart.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED
* Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
* Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
* Ability to think and work independently and with direction
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
* Good communication skills and bedside manner with a compassionate personality
* Up-to-date identification
* Basic computer skills
* Excellent personal hygiene
