Position Summary

DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision of the Event Planning Manager, assists
staff in day-to-day operations of the SUB's Events and Conferences Department.
Duties include: answering phone, routine mail handling, and supporting the
department's Event Planning Manager on miscellaneous duties.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule and book all Student Group and smaller scaled UNM Department events taking place in the SUB.
Coordinate scheduled events with Event Techs and Audio-visual technicians.
Provide quality customer service.
Assist and direct visitors.
Seek resolution for problems and inquiries.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Position requires cross training & general support functions as indicated.
CONDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT
Maintain punctual scheduled employment arrival times.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance and demeanor.
Availability to work during office hours of Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 AM hours over a period of two semesters (minimum). Scheduled shift requirements will be 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Strict adherence to departmental, University of New Mexico and related policies and
procedures.
Required to take all pertinent UNM annual safety tests/classes.

Minimum QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Experience with PC.
Understanding and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Organizing and coordinating skills.
Word processing and/or data entry skills.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to work in a professional, client centered, quality service environment.
Ability to develop and maintain files and records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
