We are working with Penn Highlands Healthcare, which is seeking ABEM-certified physicians to provide Emergency Department (ED) coverage across multiple locations in Northcentral and Southwestern Pennsylvania starting January 2025. Penn Highlands Emergency Room Float Pool Emergency Medicine (ABEM Certified) Start Date: January 2025 Shifts: Vary by location (see below for details) EMR: Cerner Will consider iMLC candidates Locations & Details: Penn Highlands Dubois (Northcentral PA) - New state-of-the-art ED opened in April 2023 - 44 rooms with 4 trauma bays - Level II Trauma Center - 360-bed hospital - Multiple physicians and APPs on shift - Shift Times: 6a-2p, 11a-9p, 2p-11p, 9p-6a Penn Highlands Mon Valley (25 miles SE of Pittsburgh) - 20 rooms with 2 trauma bays - 200-bed hospital - Back-up med-surg and ICU on night shifts, with intubations, central lines, and chest tubes - Shift Times: - Monday-Friday: 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a, 10a-8p - Saturday/Sunday: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-9p Penn Highlands Connellsville, PA (50 miles SE of Pittsburgh) - Critical Access Hospital - 25-bed hospital - Single physician on shift - Run codes, stroke alerts, rapid response for med-surg - Shift Times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a Penn Highlands Tyrone (Central PA, 10 miles south of Penn State University) - Critical Access Hospital - 25-bed hospital - Single physician on shift - Shift Times: 12 or 24-hour shifts - Average census of 10-15 patients, low acuity - Approximately 10,000 annual visits Penn Highlands Huntingdon (35 miles SW of State College) - 14 rooms in ED - Approximately 12,000 annual visits - Comfortable pace, time to care for patients - Excellent team-oriented work environment - Shift Times: 8:30a-8:30p, 8:30p-8:30a Penn Highlands Elk - Critical Access Hospital - 25-bed hospital - Shift Times: 7a-7p - Back-up med-surg and ICU on night shifts, with intubations, central lines, and chest tubes Penn Highlands Clearfield - Critical Access Hospital - 25-bed hospital - Shift Times: 7a-7p - Back-up med-surg and ICU on night shifts, with intubations, central lines, and chest tubes If any of the above resonates with you whether it's a confident "Absolutely!" or an enthusiastic "Let's do this!"
