Position Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee all financial aspects of our multifamily construction projects, from budgeting and forecasting to financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a strategic thinker, and experienced in navigating the unique financial challenges of multifamily construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for multifamily construction projects
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to executive leadership for strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements
- Coordinate with project managers to track project costs, budgets, and timelines
- Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve financial health and efficiency
- Manage cash flow, projections, and financial risk assessments for active and upcoming projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, specifically within the multifamily construction industry
- Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore) and ERP systems
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and GAAP
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
