This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth HR operations and compliance. The HR Generalist will work independently and collaboratively with the leadership team, providing HR support across the school. This includes onboarding, talent acquisition, employee relations, policy maintenance and enforcement, and payroll support. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to a positive work environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. HR Compliance and Policy Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Develop, update, and maintain school HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook. Monitor HR practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements and school policies. 2. Talent Acquisition Post job openings on various platforms and manage the recruitment process. ? Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers for final interviews. Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including reference checks and offer letters. Enter new employees into the payroll system and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed. 3. Employee Relations Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures. Address employee concerns and conflicts, conducting investigations when necessary. Foster a positive work environment through engagement initiatives and regular check-ins with staff. 4. Policy and Handbook Updates Review and update the employee handbook annually to reflect changes in policies and procedures. Communicate policy updates to staff and provide training as needed. 5. HR Administration Maintain and update the schools HR intranet page with relevant documents, announcements, and resources. Manage and maintain accurate employee records and personnel files. Prepare and distribute employment contracts for faculty and staff. 6. Payroll and Benefits Support Enter new staff members and updates in the payroll system. Act as the backup payroll processor, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution. Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee inquiries. 7. Partnership with Leadership Team Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school\'s mission and goals. Provide HR insights and support for strategic planning and organizational development. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a school or non-profit environment. Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and best practices. Proven experience with talent acquisition and employee relations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. What We Offer: A collaborative and supportive work environment.
