Description
Responsibilities:
- Gain a deep understanding of the part manufacturing process
- Develop and refine procedures and work instructions, incorporating operator feedback, equipment insights, process data, and customer specifications
- Guide fellow engineers on best practices, workstation optimization, cost-saving strategies, and process improvements
- Track and update SPC data to identify and address potential process deviations
- Collaborate with production teams to enhance processes and train operators effectively
- Participate in MRB reviews for nonconforming parts, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Work with the data team to create effective reporting tools
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to engineering teams and management
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities, and lead solution implementation
- Assess and improve manufacturing methods, focusing on tooling, production capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality standards
- Generate reports to provide real-time feedback to operators and support quality documentation
- Collaborate with Quality and Product Engineering to communicate production discrepancies
- Contribute to Lean initiatives and principles
- Develop visual management tools to track and communicate performance
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes and tooling
- Experience working on the production floor with manufacturing teams
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with manufacturing process automation is a plus
- Proficiency in LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for mentoring others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)
