Description

As a team member in Banquet Set Up, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up event spaces for events and breaking down the space after the event.

  • Set up and break down: Set up event spaces based on the floor plan and event specifications, and break down the space after the event
  • Maintain supplies: Ensure that supplies are available during the event, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Ensure equipment is working: Make sure that equipment is set up and working properly, and store away equipment when not in use
  • Clean public areas: Keep public areas clean and up to standards during the event
  • Assist banquet staff: Help banquet staff in any way needed, so that guests have the best experience possible
  • Plan and prepare for events: Assist the banquet manager in planning and preparing for upcoming events
  • Event Specifications: Complete work assignments in a timely manner and follow instructions of the supervisor
Requirements
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the guests and acknowledge their requests
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
