Behavioral Health Clinician (LPCC,LCSW, MFT, PsyD)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Mental and Behavioral Health (MBH), this position is part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides evaluation, individual, family, and group therapy, as well as case management for older adults with mental health and behavioral needs. Additionally, this role may involve direct support for the development of program materials and implementation within the MBH framework.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers crisis intervention and management to prevent hospitalizations.
- Conducts intake assessments for patients with psychiatric, psychological, and/or behavioral needs.
- Offers individual and/or family therapy to patients, their families, or caregivers.
- Provides case management services, including intensive case management, which involves evaluations and the development of service plans.
- Collaborates with members of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Facilitates therapy groups to treat and monitor patients who can benefit from group therapy.
- Participates in team meetings and case conferences to discuss clinical issues, present cases, and exchange information and ideas.
- Supplies information on community resources to the general public as needed.
- Provides direct supervision to LCSW or MFT license-eligible staff.
- Assists psychologists with the development and implementation of programs (e.g., behavior management) and policies in support of the Mental and Behavioral Health Team.
- Assists psychologists with the supervision of mental health team staff, ensuring quality control for mental health services.
- Helps psychologists identify staff training needs and contributes to the creation of training programs and materials for mental health.
- May assist in planning, developing, and administering staff training seminars and materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
- 1-year experience with the geriatric population or in a long-term care setting.
- Extensive knowledge of mental health and substance abuse counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team and with patients who present complex psychosocial issues.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds and cultural orientations.
- Bilingual ability may be required for certain positions/assignments.
