With a wealth of experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction, including Lifesciences Engineering and Compliance Consulting, we are proud to be an employee-owned company that offers ample opportunities for professional growth.Overview:We are seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer who possesses extensive technical knowledge and skills in safety systems engineering and specifications development. The ideal candidate should exhibit a high level of professionalism while working effectively as part of a team.Responsibilities:- Over 10 years of experience in Safety Systems Engineering and Applications ConsultingQualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - Possession of a Functional Safety Certification (TÜV FSE, exida CFSP, or ISA84 SIS Fundamentals)- PMP certification is preferredCore Competencies:Technical Expertise: Must possess extensive experience in safety lifecycle management, such as conducting PHA/LOPAs, hazard identification, safeguard allocation, Independent Protection Layers (IPLs) allocation, Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) development, logic narrative creation, and SIL Calculations. In addition, the candidate should have proficiency in developing test and validation procedures. Knowledge of PLC/SIS programming, panel design, and integration with DCS and auxiliary PLCs is essential. Ability to lead commissioning/cutovers, perform loop checks, validate/test logic, and provide start-up assistance/troubleshooting. Familiarity with generating SRS documents using software packages like exSILentia V3/V4, SILSolver, aeShield, or Safety Lifecycle Manager (SLM).Safety: Responsible for adhering to company safety policies and procedures.Client Interaction: Maintain regular contact with clients to address their concerns and incorporate their input. Collaborate with clients, engineers, and operators to identify project needs and define functional design requirements.Morale & Teamwork: Demonstrate professionalism and work effectively in a team environment. Provide leadership to project team members and motivate them to achieve project goals.Training: Ensure that all necessary trainings and certifications are up to date and valid.
