Job Quick Facts Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Springfield, MA Service Setting: Inpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing Coverage Type: Call Only Call Coverage: Labor & Delivery, ED and OR coverage Call Schedule: 24 hour call - 15-18 shifts/month % of Practice: - Low Risk: 100% - High Risk: 0% - GYN: 15% (emergency cases only) - C-Section: 25% Nursery Admission: 2 per day Physician in Practice: 4 Support Staff: 10 APPS, Full complement-RN, CNM's, 24 hour Peds, Anesthesia and surgical PAs No of Beds: 16 (6 labor; 10 postpartum) Lab and ultrasound onsite Nursery Level: I Required Procedures: - OB: Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.), FHR Interpretation NST/CST/FSE,OB ultrasounds, Performance of Interpretation,OB ultrasounds, Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability) - GYN: D&C,Surgical Gynecology Open,Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation, LOAs, Chromal Tubation,Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs - L&D: Routine Delivery Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section,Complicated Delivery C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.,VBACs,Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations Other Info: - No Outpatient or elective surgeries - Other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during Locums coverage dates EMR: Meditech Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance coveredRequirements: Active MA License BC/BE BLS Local candidate (highly preferred)
