Role Summary/Purpose
The Calibration Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all tools requiring calibration are sent out and calibrated before expired and manages the distribution of calibrated tools to and from the shop. Tools managed will be tools used for monitoring and measuring resources such as mechanical tools, inspection tools, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. The Calibration Technician will also keep the tool crib organized and utilize gage tracker / Epicor to ensure all tools requiring calibration are recalled as required.
Essential Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for Mechanical Calibration of measuring tools and gauges, maintaining calibration records using GAGETrak7 software, and effectively controlling the calibration recall system.
• Strong attention to detail
• Rapid response to equipment failure
• Response/implement any corrective actions related to the calibration process
• Ensure that all calibrations are performed on time according to schedules
• Generate and maintain detailed records of all calibrations, maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of test and services performed, enter required information in the company's database
• Must be able to identify out of tolerance equipment
• Support the coordination of validation protocol execution or validation activities with cross-functional departments
• Coordinate and manage all outside calibration
• Keeps others informed of work progress, timetables, and issues
• Work independently with minimum supervision
Qualifications/Requirements
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties
satisfactorily. Also, proven ability to demonstrate:
• Experience performing General Purpose and Physical Dimensional equipment calibrations
• Experience/knowledge of electrical, electronic equipment
• Current ASQ Calibration Technician Certification preferred
• Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 and AS9100) and maintaining lab requirements
• Must pass eye exam
