Job Duties: How You Spend Your Day
- Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data for collection purposes.
- Processes data from manual or electronic field books
- Performs basic field calculations of horizontal and vertical geometry of roadways under supervision.
- Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision
- Performs calculations for construction stakeout for review
- Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand various types of documents and operate instruments to provide accurate information.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work varying schedules, including out of town, overnight travel.
- Work environment is outdoors and potentially rough terrain, and requires ability to walk, sit and stand while operating survey equipment.
