Job Title: Fitter/Fabricator - Richmond Job Description We are currently looking for experienced Fitters to join our team. In this role, you will lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprints and layout specifications. You will receive training to operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly. This position involves performing complex heat corrections, checking camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes, and making necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. You will also set up complex jigs or assemblies, identify and correct potential hazards, interpret complex documents, and perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area. Responsibilities Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprints and layout specifications. Operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly. Perform complex heat corrections and check camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes. Make necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. Set up complex jigs or assemblies. Identify and correct potential hazards. Interpret complex documents. Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area. Essential Skills 1-2 years experience working in a structural fabrication role. Ability to read blueprints. Proficiency in welding dual shield and MIG Fluxcore. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Structural, Flux Core, Steel, torch, fabrication, fitting, Structural Steel, Welding, and Blueprint interpretation. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a 200,000 sq. foot steel fabrication shop on 1st shift: Monday-Friday 6am to 4:30pm, with potential overtime on Saturdays. The environment is loud and heavy industrial, with a strong emphasis on safety. The facility is not climate controlled, so expect cold temperatures in winter and extreme heat in summer. The facility is equipped with overhead cranes throughout, and you will have your own welding station. Steel toe boots, safety glasses, welding gloves, and appropriate attire are required.
