Eating Disorders Physician

Children's Mercy Hospital (MO), Kansas City, MO, United States

The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is recruiting a board-certified/board-eligible adolescent medicine physician with special interest and/or expertise in the evaluation and management of eating disorders to join the faculty in our Eating Disorders Center.

The Eating Disorders Center was established in 2007 and delivers high-quality, comprehensive outpatient eating disorder treatment for children and adolescents, as well as inpatient medical stabilization. Our dynamic multidisciplinary outpatient treatment team is comprised of clinical psychologists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, adolescent medicine physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, nutritionists specializing in eating disorders, family therapists, and a social worker dedicated to family education and outreach.

Bringing in additional faculty, including an adolescent medicine physician, is part of Children’s Mercy’s commitment to the program’s expansion. Physicians with interest, experience and expertise in eating disorders will find many clinical leadership, academic, and research opportunities here.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine was established in 1975 and serves the Kansas City metropolitan area, western Missouri and eastern Kansas. Current faculty bring a breadth of experience, from senior physicians to recent fellowship graduates. Our division consists of six physicians, four advanced nurse practitioners, one PhD researcher, full-time social work support, and dedicated, skilled nurses. Beyond our eating disorder services, the Division of Adolescent Medicine provides adolescent specialty consultative care, collaborates in several other multidisciplinary programs within the hospital, and delivers outreach services at a youth shelter.

You will find a career at Children’s Mercy to be rewarding and supportive of your individual career path.  We look forward to sharing more about the opportunities here and welcoming you to our team!
