The Utility Systems & Solutions business within Siemens' Electrification & Automation (EA) unit focuses on expanding and advancing EA's Utility and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) markets. The comprehensive product portfolio includes medium voltage switchgear (AIS & GIS), outdoor circuit breakers, MV control, power equipment centers, overhead distribution products, low voltage motor control centers, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, and supplementary MV and LV products. These offerings are integrated into complete electrical packaged solutions for utility distribution systems, substations, power plants, and renewable energy projects.

The Siemens Electrification & Automation business segment has an immediate need for a Northern Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Utility Systems. The Regional Sales Manager leads the execution of the utility market sales strategy. This role provides strategic direction and execution to grow market share for the entire Siemens Industry product portfolio.

Responsibilities include developing regional account plans, managing the execution of these plans, reporting progress to Siemens management, building partnerships and relationships within utility accounts, and collaborating with Siemens sales teams to drive order intake. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with internal partners to provide customer feedback and industry trends to guide the business.

You will make in impact with the following duties:
  • Develop Account Plans and Manage Execution
    • Utilize account planning tools to create plans
    • Manage plans and provide status updates to leadership
    • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on regional progress
  • Collaborate with sales partners
    • Work the account plans through sales channels and partners
    • Provide feedback on plan execution and sales channel performance
    • Lead monthly meetings with regional sales channel to push account plan execution and report progress
  • Build Partnerships and Relationships
    • Develop relationships to provide project pipelines, annual forecasts, and qualify market opportunities
    • Develop partnerships to promote high level sales agreements
    • Develop and maintain key customer relationships
  • Business Unit and Manufacturing Operations Guidance
    • Assist with planning and provide analytics to support the operations team.
    • Apply data-driven insights to provide forecast and pricing guidance
    • Provide customer feedback for new product enhancements and development activities
  • Regional Quota setting and achievement
    • Develop regional quotas for all sales channels (Agents, TD, Generation, BDMs within region)
    • Report monthly on Booking and revenue achievements to plan
    • Attain regional quota as communicated, annually
  • Pipeline Management
    • Manage your regional pipeline effectively, with proper close dates and probabilities to effectively forecast your regional bookings
    • Monitor and Maintain data accuracy
  • Performance Reporting and KPI Monitoring
    • Provide monthly performance and KPI reports to management, highlighting key metrics and insights
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience with the following:
    • Sales role within the Energy, Utility or Power Distribution markets.
    • Proven track record of success in driving revenue and market share growth.
    • Demonstrated success in value pricing and value proposition development.
    • Performance leadership of a technical sales team, including mentorship and goal setting.
    • Regular preparation and presentation of data to leadership teams.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a Sales Engineer or Sales Manager within the Utility market.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Strong relationship building within the Utility, Energy, or Power Distribution markets.

The pay range for this position is $118,800 - $203,700 plus incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
