Human Resources Manager

The HR Manager manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, HRIS, orientation/training and development, FMLA, RELIAS, and job descriptions. Prior experience working with multiple state locations and the ability to work closely with remote offices to ensure program compliance and employee satisfaction.

Development of the Human Resources Department
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Manages ongoing HR staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
  • Manages the job description process and ensures new format is used.
Human Resource Information Systems
  1. Maintains employee-related data bases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  2. Fully utilizes Human Resources software to the company's advantage.
Training and Development
  • Manages the in-house employee training system (RELIAS) that addresses company training needs.
  • Develop new hire ExpHR and employee/benefit orientation and conduct monthly ongoing training workshops.
  • Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, and standardized reports.
  • Periodically reviews trainings and make recommendations on any new required trainings that may be required.
  • HR Manager to assess and develop HR internal standard processes.
Employee Relations
  • Assists with the development and update of Human Resources policies for the company with regard to Human Resources.
  • Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws.
  • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Participates in the investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Advises managers and supervisors about the steps in the disciplinary process of the company.
  • Counsels managers on employment issues.
  • You will be responsible for organizing/recognizing, diagnosing and systemically addressing performance issues. You will need to be a specialist in employment law, company policy/compliance, investigations and ensure the accurate and efficient handling of all incidents.
  • Ensure HR Business Partner meet's all employee relation/leave tasks/functions.

Leave of Absence
  • Provides day-to-day leave Non-FMLA/ADA/FMLA administration services.
  • Assists employees with any issues.
  • Communicate changes and information as needed.

Law
  • Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.

The Human Resources Manager assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the SR HR Manager/Director of HR/SR VP HR.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
  • Be able to think strategically and also operationalize and execute the direction experience managing multiple remote locations.
  • Training in employment law, employee relations and training preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred not required.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle large volume of detail work accurately and efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle employee confidentiality.
  • Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
  • Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy.
  • Initiative to take charge of unforeseen situations, solve problems and adjust to schedule changes.
  • Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check & negative drug screen.
  • Travel as necessary.
