About Us: Equine Veterinary Care is a dynamic and progressive equine sports medicine practice specializing in Thoroughbred and performance horses. Our outpatient clinic, located at the Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, MD, provides specialized care to a broad range of equine athletes. We offer intermediary outpatient care, including fluids for impaction colics, minor surgeries, diagnostic medical and lameness workups and therapeutic options. Additionally, we deliver high-quality ambulatory care to horses within a 45-minute radius in MD, PA, and DE. We collaborate regularly with leading referral facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Managing Equine Sports Medicine Veterinarian to lead and expand our ambulatory sports medicine services. This role involves overseeing all aspects of sports medicine care in both clinic and ambulatory settings, managing a team of veterinarians and support staff, and driving the growth of our ambulatory sports medicine segment. The ideal candidate will excel in client relationship management and have a strong background in expanding and enhancing ambulatory care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for equine athletes in both the clinic and ambulatory settings, including lameness evaluations, joint injections, regenerative therapies, and rehabilitation.
  • Ambulatory Service Development: Focus on growing our ambulatory sports medicine services by developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain clients. Enhance our reputation in the ambulatory care sector through targeted outreach and client engagement.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering exceptional service and addressing their needs effectively. Develop client retention strategies and identify opportunities to expand ambulatory services.
  • Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. Ensure high standards of care and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Case Management: Oversee complex cases, develop treatment plans, and communicate with clients regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.
  • Research & Development: Stay current with the latest advancements in sports medicine, contribute to the development of new protocols and treatment methods, and encourage participation in research activities.
  • Operational Oversight: Assist in the management of departmental resources, including budget planning, equipment procurement, and facility maintenance.
  • Education & Training: Provide ongoing education and training for staff and clients on best practices in sports medicine and performance enhancement.


Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in equine sports medicine, with proven leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in growing and managing ambulatory care services, with a strong background in client relationship management.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with expertise in advanced therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, staff, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
