JOB SUMMARY
The Manager Electrical Engineering is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing electrical engineering to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities; and adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Manage a location-diverse team by overseeing and coordinating activities across multiple locations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure designs meet changing OEM requirements for electrical installations in furniture and seats.
  • Lead Electrical Engineering Design Reviews to critically assess electrical solutions against business, customer, and certification requirements.
  • Ensure on-time or early release of drawings and electrical installations to support operations.
  • Manage performance to maintain budget and quality continuously.
  • Oversee key projects, processes, performance reports, data, and analysis. Plan documentation systems.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects, including preparing records of expenditures, research findings, progress reports, and staff meetings to inform management of project status.
  • Implement and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, determine, and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Review operations and plans to meet sales planning requirements and ascertain electrical engineering needs for developing new markets.
  • Select appropriate design concepts and fundamental technology for new products or improvements to existing ones.
  • Work with manufacturing, operations, and quality managers to review and monitor quality, process improvements, and new product development.
  • Review and analyze proposals to determine if benefits and possible applications justify expenditures.
  • Plan and formulate aspects of research and development proposals, including objectives, applications, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to company policies.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Protect the confidentiality of the company's information and products.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field is required.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience.

Skills:
  • Skilled in managing budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Expertise in identifying issues, analyzing data, and developing effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and impactful interactions.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, driving performance and achieving goals.
  • Strong technical skills relevant to the role

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in fast-paced, change-driven environments: Ability to provide direction and adapt as needed while navigating high levels of ambiguity.
  • Experience with OEM and retrofit aircraft electrical installations: Knowledge of drawings, wiring, and routing requirements for furniture or seats.
  • Proficiency in relevant software: Skilled in CATIA, AUTOCAD, and PLM.
  • Experience managing remote or hybrid teams:

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

Salary Range Transparency: $115,000 - $159,000 annually
