The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina is seeking an outstanding BC/BE fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist to join the Wake Forest Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in an open-rank faculty position. The successful candidate will join a division that includes 13 MFM faculty members, six MFM fellows, three genetic counselors, and a large cohort of outstanding sonographers that together, provide care to women with high-risk pregnancies at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem and the surrounding communities. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a 900-bed tertiary care facility located in Winston-Salem and serves as the anchor for the Wake Forest Baptist Health System. The system currently delivers approximately 5,000 babies annually and serves as a referral center for women across western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, and southern Virginia.
The MFM Division has an ACGME-certified maternal-fetal medicine fellowship that has a long history of training outstanding MFM providers. The program is currently approved for two fellows per year and the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in fellow education. The division has a strong clinical, basic, and translational research program that includes state-of-the art laboratory space, laboratory technicians, clinical research coordinators, and clinical research regulatory experts.
The Wake Forest Department of Ob/Gyn includes an Ob/Gyn generalist division and subspecialty divisions in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, and gynecologic specialties including faculty members trained in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pediatric and adolescent gynecology. The department has an outstanding obstetrics and gynecology residency training program (six residents per year), and fellowship programs in MFM, gynecologic oncology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
