Senior Paralegal

Under the direction of a supervisor, conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section's rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities. Under the direction of a supervisor, performs legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
Pleasant phone manner and the ability to interview potentially aggrieved persons about traumatic experiences in a professional, thorough, and sensitive manner is critical.
Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications
Coordinate and track data productions.

Required:
- Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
- Candidate must be able to perform detailed searches of court records and other public records utilizing online databases and services such as LexisNexis. Familiarity with methods for researching people, property ownership, and/or business entities is preferable
- Solid Relativity experience required.
- Spanish language skills strongly preferred
- Must be able to travel.
- Familiarity and experience with Excel, Word, Zoom, Teams, PowerPoint and social media research highly valued. .
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and legal resources. Requires excellent writing skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
- Previous experience working with federal civil rights statutes.
- Will consider candidates with extensive litigation support experience coupled with Paralegal certificate.
- Hybrid work environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location may be required.
