In this role you will get to assess, redesign and refactor future state application frameworks on a distributed hybrid platform (cloud/on-premise) in direct support of our national defense. You must be adept at identifying performance bottlenecks, usability constraints and support scalability. Development expertise in C++ and other supporting languages will enable full integration and support via container management of COTS/GOTS/FOSS integrated solutions.What You'll Be Doing:Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiencyDeveloping solutions which integrated or extended COTS or GOTS products and may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completenessWill require the ability to analyze massive datasets to determine the best cloud services to use and the best way to design an analytic to pull out or enhance data for the analysts needsData management and data flow for performance optimizationWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 10+ years of related experienceExperience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolutionC++ and Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threadingExperience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++, C#, PythonWell-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting languageExperience with source code management practices and tools: Git, Maven, JiraContinuous Integration / Continuous Testing, leveraging tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/CD PipelinesFamiliarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)Container development, management and limitations, leveraging Docker, PodmanMiddleware concepts and pub/sub messagingAPI and pub/sub queue management (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabitMQ)Data management experience with data in transit, data at rest, No SQL or SQL databasesCybersecurity SAST/DAST approach for SBOM validation and deploymentWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:Experience developing containerized software and developing multiple containerized applications that interface together – Kubernetes, Docker, PodMan, Docker Compose, OpenShiftDevSecOps automation development mindsetProblem solving experienceCollaborative Ideation: Shared analytical skills for capability concepts and problem solvingIterative Approach: Rapid prototyping, i.e. creating multiple versions or prototypes of a product or solution.
