The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic partner to the Payworks Human Resources team and the business. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will support the HR Operations function by providing advice and counsel on all aspects of human resources. Utilizing your Human Resources experience and expertise, you will develop and execute business strategies focused on people and culture, talent and workforce management, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, organizational design and change management (to name a few!). ENHANCE THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE - IT'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build Relationships - You will collaborate with leaders to develop and implement people and culture strategies that align with Payworks' strategic initiatives and foster an environment in which all Payworks employees have meaningful work and feel empowered. You will partner with leaders to execute people and culture plans and initiatives including organizational design, employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Analyze & Empathize - Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees on employee relations matters, providing guidance to resolve conflicts, address disciplinary issues and lead workplace investigations. You will also champion organizational and departmental human resources initiatives, including health and wellness strategies, and take an active role in supporting effective return to work plans. Your data-driven mindset will allow you to develop insights and make recommendations to improve engagement, productivity and leadership across the organization.
  • Influence & Innovate - Collaborate with the HR team to facilitate discussions around change and transformation. You will identify when change management is required and develop plans that prioritize compliance with employment law. You will also identify and monitor strategies to accelerate employee development, nurture key talent, and prepare successor candidates for future leadership roles.
  • Collaborate & Support - You will work closely with HR teams including Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, to support our workforce and organizational goals. Your collaboration will help to identify training needs, refine recruitment strategies, enhance total reward programs, and analyze HR metrics to drive meaningful progress and measurable outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPHR/CHRP Candidate designation, or a strong desire to obtain the CPHR certification, is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in an advisory capacity within a multi-department organization.
  • Knowledge of functional human resources disciplines, including talent acquisition, learning and development, HR planning, performance management, and compensation and benefits, with the ability to make decisions and provide guidance on all HR initiatives and streams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to create and deliver presentations, facilitate discussions and draft policies or documents.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels of an organization to drive positive HR outcomes.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Comfort with the occasional business trip; you can expect to travel to different Payworks locations across Canada.
  • Fluency in both official languages (French/English), with the ability to communicate effectively to produce succinct explanation and correspondence in both languages, would be considered an asset.
