With Amazon Locations affordable data, tracking and geofencing capabilities, and built-in metrics for health monitoring, customers can bring sophisticated location-enabled applications to production quickly, without the high cost of custom development.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a software engineer to drive feature development for Amazon Location Service. You will take the lead on end-to-end full stack design, development of our new serverless AWS service. You will deliver a best in class customer experience and operate the service to the highest standards.
A day in the life
Start your day, grab a coffee (or tea), say hi to your team, design and build features to create or enhance applications. Other elements in the day of a SDE include ensuring operational effectiveness of systems, providing oncall support, running and attending meetings including sprint ceremonies and reviewing designs and work products with your team and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building distributed cloud systems
- Hands on experience with DevOps tools and practices
- Experience maintaining open source codebases
