Under general supervision, performs data entry and sorting, filing, and retrieval of donor records and source documents.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Summary)
Under general supervision, performs data entry and sorting, filing, and retrieval of donor records and source documents.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE (Key Responsibilities):
- Performs accurate and timely input of data from donor records and other source documents.
- Reviews and enters data updates as directed by Quality Assurance and Compliance.
- Reconciles various computer and/or manually generated reports to source data to ensure accuracy of data input.
- Sorts and files donor records and other source documents.
- Maintains storage records for off-site storage of donor records and other source documents.
- Retrieves donor records as requested by authorized San Diego Blood Bank personnel and as needed for various inspections, assessments, surveys and/or audits.
- Understands and adheres to the policies, procedures and standards developed as part of the San Diego Blood Bank Compliance Program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Two years of data entry experience
- Must be able to work on a computer for 4+ hours a day.
- Perform body motions such as: keyboard data input, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, twisting, stretching, reaching, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping and gripping in the ergonomically correct manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and simple percentages.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal and learn to use software.
- Ability to use 10-key pad.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to sort, file and move donor records into file cabinets and/or storage boxes.
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle a wide variety of confidential information.
- Good organizational and time management skills; must be able to establish priorities and multi-task
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Bilingual in English & an additional language preferred
