The Office of Admissions is one of several departments comprising the Division of Enrollment Services, which utilizes a variety of strategies to enroll and support a diverse student population representative of Rockhurst University's mission and vision. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of applications and application-related materials.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive, analyze, and accurately process applications in a timely manner.
- Analyze and process supporting documentation, administer admission holds, maintain both current electronic files and archived paper files.
- Execute decision letter generation for applicable applications.
- Prepare advisor files for enrollment and prepare files for Registrar.
- Interface with various campus departments.
- Communicate information about required documentation to prospective students and high school/college guidance offices through excellent written and verbal/presentation skills.
- Support recruitment efforts through answering of phone calls and interaction with prospective student visitors.
- Develop working knowledge of Rockhurst University admission processes and requirements for admissions.
- May oversee student workers to complete various office duties, including acceptance letter packaging, filing and data entry.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of customer and student service.
- Knowledge of basic project management and organizational practices.
- Knowledge of Banner student information system is preferred but not required.
- Skill in excellent data entry and organizing.
- Skill in independently performing, organizing, and prioritizing work activities.
- Skill in written communication.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to produce reports for departments across campus.
- Ability to articulate professionally and concisely verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
High school diploma or GED/HiSet AND at least one (1) years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in data entry, particularly in maintaining electronic document management systems.
- Knowledge of functionality of CRM programs and higher education student information systems is preferred but not required.
- Experience in organizational management and prioritizing for effective and efficient use of time and resources.
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Experience in overseeing student workers or related supervisory experience.
