The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a part-time Veterinarian to lead animal medical care at the state-of-the-art, Shari D. Coleman Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, which features an on-site surgery suite.

The part-time Veterinarian earns a competitive salary of $80 - $100/hour, depending on experience. This position is slotted to work about 25 hours a week.

Additionally, the City offers a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 employer match.

ABOUT SHARI D. COLEMAN ANIMAL SHELTER & ADOPTION CENTER

We make it our mission to protect, shelter, and care for animals, present educational programs to the community, provide support to residents and their pets during times of disaster, and offer and promote pet adoptions.

Our staff of ten professionally trained individuals are dedicated to serving the public and local animals, and we want you to bring your passion and love for all animals to our team!

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional veterinary experience.
  • Shelter medicine experience, preferred.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Requires an active State of Texas Veterinary License
  • Requires a DEA registration, or ability to obtain it upon hire.
