Overview:
The Atlanta office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience to join an established National Litigation Team. This position provides a wide range of administrative and clerical support to a legal team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, detail- oriented, professional, and committed to helping us meet our clients' needs.
A Day in the Life:In this position you will be maintaining electronic and paper files using NetDocs file management system. Along with drafting, formatting, editing, and proofreading letters, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents. Filing documents electronically in court system software for state and federal court. You will also be responsible with downloading files from state and federal court systems. Analyzing pleadings, orders, and other court filings, logging and processing all docketing requests assigned to you, using the Firms docketing software VisionSQL/CompuLaw. While in this role you will be opening all incoming mail, review, and handle. Professionally answering and directing phone calls or client emails. While also scheduling and arranging conference calls and meetings using Microsoft Teams and Outlook. You will be tasked with inputting attorney time entries, assisting in preparing and sending out client bills; monitoring accounts receivable, and assisting clients with payments. Maintaining attorney calendars in Microsoft Outlook. Preparing and processing expenses for assigned attorneys and paralegal coordinator. Performing initial conflict checks, opening/closing client matters, preparing engagement letters. Booking, organizing, and managing attorney travel arrangements.
We Know You:Minimum of 2 years of experience in product liability, personal injury, or commercial
litigation (both in federal and state court)
- Strong analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with legal billing guidelines and sending client invoices
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and self-direction
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- An excellent work ethic and the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, spelling, and grammar
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong technology capabilities with the ability to learn and interest in using various computer programs
