Position Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Pay Rate: $17 - $20/hour, depending on education, training, and experience

SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Administrator is responsible for the shipping, receiving, clerical and administrative functions for the department. In addition, this position is responsible for the complete operation and documentation of the physical truck scale. This position is in Kalamazoo, MI, and is fully onsite.
The ideal candidate for this position will work well independently, have strong computer skills, and a background in Accounts Payable/Administrative work (or similar).
Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)
- Complete paperwork associated with billing, buying, receiving and shipping of scrap metal in an accurate and timely manner
- Answer phones and assists drivers, visitors and staff entering the facilities
- Weigh inbound and outbound material for shipping and receiving by utilizing the truck scale
- Prepare, post, and mail invoices
- Enter weights, photographs, and associated documentation into ERP system
- Enter and post daily production logs
- Maintain scale and departmental records; file copies of weight tickets and shipping documents
- Verify and maintains scale weights of boxes and trailers
- Receive parts on purchase orders
- Review and finalize scale receivers
- Attach printed scale receivers to scale tickets then send to trades payables.
- Assist with month-end duties according to the calendar and notify the Divisional Controller when complete
- Collaborate with Operations Manager on reporting and inventory tracking
- Must be able to interact in person with peers and public.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role
- Associates degree preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, a problem solver, a team player, and capable of working with analytical tools
- Must be able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
