Job Summary:

The Sales Analyst is responsible for creating and analyzing sales performance documents to aid management in the decision-making process and drive a customer centric organization. Supports sales managers in reporting, forecasting and analysis; sales analyst must be able to translate significant data into actionable information that describes what has happened in the past, what is happening now and what could occur based on current trends. The ideal candidate will have a sales mindset, be disciplined, have a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic and set high standards for data integrity.

What You'll Do:
  • Preparation of gap analysis for sales territories, product groups, etc.
  • Prepare Power BI reports and analyze data for trends and impact on the business
  • Prepare sales reports for monthly review meetings, executive meetings, presentations, and for parent company
  • Present and interpret sales data to facilitate decision making by sales leaders
  • Prepare and report sales and gross profit reports, communicate with branch teams to understand trends and/or transactional issues driving unusual results
  • Research and analyze fluctuations in sales segments and product mixes
  • Participates in Company planning and forecasting
  • Identifies, develops and executes opportunities for improvement and best practices
  • Perform Ad hoc report analysis, other duties and/or projects as assigned
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
  • Performs complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities to accomplish objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
  • Assist sales leaders in planning, forecasting and setting sales goals
  • Data collection and reporting of key metrics to track performance on strategic initiatives
  • Query, analyze and report data for trends and impact on the business
What You'll Bring:
  • Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including macros, queries, PowerPoint
  • Power BI report development, analysis, and reporting
  • Proficient skills with database query management and various forms of ELT tools and/or applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience with ERP systems; Eclipse ERP a plus
  • Energetic, curious, and motivated; thrives in a changing, deadline-oriented environment where the ability to prioritize is a must
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary business information
  • Highly detail-oriented, curious, independent critical thinker
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University in Data/Analytics, Accounting or Finance
  • 1 - 3 years' as a data Analyst
  • Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment and Hours:
  • It's a full-time job in the office, typical work schedule is Monday to Friday
  • Long and varied hours required occasionally
  • Standard office environment as well as occasionally in a warehouse environment, with standard office equipment.
  • Work is sedentary but may require standing and walking for 5-10% of the time


Work Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Pay Range: $55K-$86K
