Reporting Analyst I-III
At Pacifica Continental, we are currently collaborating with an important bank in Miami in the search for a Reporting Analyst I-III, fluid in English and Portuguese to join their dynamic team.
Position Summary
The Reporting Analyst supports the VP Financial Report & Risk Analyst in preparation, review and execution of financial reporting providing concise, prompt and clear information to decision making stakeholders while ensuring adherence and compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
● Maintain the CODEX report and its systems to the BBSA, providing and ensuring that all financial records are accurate and completed on a timely basis, understanding the business risks and opportunities, while improving and establishing financial governance, as needed.
● Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to compile confidential financial research and analysis.
● Maintain financial systems or databases, as needed.
● Serve as a backup to the other Financial Reporting functions and personnel.
● Interface with other departments and institutions, including but not limited, to BBSA and any of its affiliates so as to verify and solve any transaction report data and issues.
● Support special projects and business combinations by assisting and gathering data to support financial analyses.
● Prepare Ad-Hoc Management Reports and Presentations to VP Financial Report & Risk Analyst and the Senior Management.
● Assist other departments in all the issues related to the Financial Reporting department.
● Assist in maintaining the reporting systems, such as Cognos (H360), to comply with the Bank’s reporting needs.
● Assist the VP Financial Report & Risk Analyst to comply with the department objectives and functions.
● Ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
● Manage and maintain appropriate internal controls for all reporting functions.
● Support the audit process ensuring it is accurate and complete.
● Remain current with and adhere to bank and departmental policies and procedures.
● Full knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, including but not limited to BSA/AML, CDD, EDD, and others as defined by the Compliance Department
● Attend and/or complete all required training as assigned
Additional duties and responsibilities
● Assist colleagues with projects or tasks when needed
● Communicate effectively with other Departments
● Perform other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position
Education and experience
● Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a qualified college or university in accounting, finance, or relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience. Experience with a financial services institution or related industry is preferable.
● Banking experience is preferred.
Other skills/qualifications
● Advanced technical skills in performing financial analysis and querying data within databases and/or spreadsheets are required.
● Comfortable working with large data sets from multiple data sources.
● Proficient knowledge of MS Excel and advanced functions.
● Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, banking trends and techniques, and their applications. ● Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management, staff within the bank, and external parties.
● Ability to perform accurately and timely under tight deadlines and in stressful circumstances. Attention to detail is critical.
● Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
● Ability to effectively research and compile data from financial information systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other data sources
