POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team at AMM, a leading Management Services Organization (MSO) supporting underserved communities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the MSO and its affiliated entities. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, ensuring accuracy, and providing insights to support decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic growth in a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES-DUTIES
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals and healthcare industry standards.
- Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing variance explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial dashboards and reports to senior leadership, department heads, and stakeholders.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts for the MSO and its healthcare operations.
- Work closely with operational and clinical teams to gather data, assess financial needs, and create accurate financial projections.
- Monitor actual performance against budgeted results, providing ongoing updates and forecasts to ensure financial goals are met.
- Cost Analysis & Efficiency Improvements:
- Conduct in-depth cost analysis to identify opportunities for medical cost savings, efficiency improvements, and process optimizations.
- Work with department leaders to evaluate expenses and implement financial controls to optimize resource allocation.
- Track key cost metrics, such as per-patient costs, service line profitability, and overhead expenses.
- Data Integrity & Compliance:
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with healthcare industry regulations, including Medicare Advantage and other types of payer contracts.
- Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and MSO-specific requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to evaluate financial implications of potential business initiatives, new contracts, and partnerships.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making, including growth opportunities, investments, and expansion plans.
- Participate in financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or new service lines.
- Process Improvement & Automation:
- Assist in the development and enhancement of financial models, tools, and systems to improve financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to automate financial processes and improve efficiency, leveraging financial software and data analytics tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
- 1-4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the healthcare, MSO, or insurance industries.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification preferred
- Proficiency in SQL and/or other languages (i.e. Python) preferre
- Experience with managed care financial metrics and payer contracts is ideal
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and financial modeling tools.
- Familiarity with financial management software (e.g., NetSuite or similar ERP systems).
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
