Financial Analyst
We have an immediate need for a Financial Analyst for a 12 month + contract.
Location: Remote but needs to be within 2 hours of Los Angeles
This Job Pays: $30-40 an hour “plus benefits”
We are seeking a senior-level Fund Accountant / Financial Analyst to join our team, ideally bringing over 5 years of experience in fund accounting and financial analysis, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting. This role is perfect for detail-oriented professionals looking to enhance their skills in financial analysis, reporting, and model building.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, interpret data, and deliver actionable insights to support informed business decisions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reports and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve financial oversight.
- Conduct budget and variance analyses, explaining variances to aid in accurate forecasting.
- Create and refine financial models to support strategic initiatives and streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting by applying GAAP knowledge and leveraging the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, sum-ifs) for complex data analysis, often working with large, linked files.
- Operate effectively within a major ERP system (such as Infor Lawson) to manage financial tasks and collaborate with finance teams and vendors.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fund accounting and financial analysis, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Analyst, with mentoring or training junior analysts.
- Strong proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including v-lookups and pivot tables.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and the General Ledger.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and work independently with general supervision.
- Adaptable and quick to learn new systems, processes, and technologies.
