Actuarial Analyst

The Actuarial Team at CURE Auto Insurance is looking for a Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team! In this role, you will be a key member in helping CURE grow profitably. The Actuarial Analyst will be involved in a variety of actuarial work, including rate indication, reserving and development of predictive model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Pricing: prepare and review of rate indication to determine the base rate adequacy and rate needs; analyze the premium and loss trends to help make an informed business decision; understand CURE's competitive positions and find suitable rating factors for CURE from competitors' filing

  • Reserving: complete quarterly reserve analysis; conduct an in-depth analysis of claims and drive operational decisions to improve efficiency and reduce leakage

  • Modelling: collaborating with business users, creating/testing/refining predictive models, quantifying business benefits, deploying models, and presenting results to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Other work might include providing premium and loss data to reinsurers, feasibility study of other lines of business and expansion into new states.

Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of P&C actuarial experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related major.

  • 1+ actuarial exams and interest in pursuing the ACAS and FCAS credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society.

  • Proficiency in SQL and MS Office

  • Experience with Python and VBA

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
