Overview:

The IT Security Analyst at Cook Medical will identify, development, implement, and communicate security requirements to the IT function and Cook globally.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and investigate on threat actors and malicious activity in client environments
Differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms
Research and Education on Current Threats and Detection Methodologies
Assist with troubleshooting network & system issues within SOC
Document all technical procedures and user guides
Leverage proprietary systems to develop and publish vulnerability reports
Triage and respond to security events on a 24/7 basis
Utilize information technology, cybersecurity, privacy skills and experience with various IT governance and control frameworks (including NIST, COBIT, CMMI, ISO 2700x, SOC II)
Implement security strategies and policies/standards in compliance with legislation and other directives including PCI, and Sarbanes-Oxley

Troubleshoot issues and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of large and complex data.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related technical discipline; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
Minimum 2 years experience information security, especially in a network security analyst role
Security +, CEH, or SANS GIAC certifications are preferred

Experience in a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC) preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with standard concepts, practices, and procedures

Physical Requirements:

Secondary on call responsibilities when assigned
Works under general office environmental conditions

Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
Domestic and International travel as required
Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
