Title: Transport Security Engineer
Location: Alexandria, VA or Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
Job Details:
Assist customer to advance capabilities in the VNF/CNF/NFVi/NFVO/VNFM/VIM/MEC space
Design and implement telco-grade open source multi-tenant private clouds and micro clouds
Investigate, report and/or fix software defects uncovered during deployments
Demonstrate advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques relevant to telco
Architect and implement advanced, resilient solutions
Design and deliver software defined infrastructure with OpenStack, Kubernetes, MAAS and Ceph
Learn model-driven operations with Juju charms for Kafka, Hadoop, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, NGINX, and more
Solid understanding of 4G/5G network architecture and CORE/RAN architecture
Specify resource and network orchestration requirements for a multi-hybrid cloud deployment(AWS) ONAP, 3GPP specifications, TM Forum standards, and others such as MEF and Small Cell Forum
Design solutions that can allow deployment and management of virtualized resources at scale, including virtual machines, containers, and 'Serverless' Systems. Solid understanding of Kubernetes, Dockers and VMs
5G Network Knowledge- primarily NF level service and APIs (strong SBA/Signaling/Interface/NEF/NRF/MEC LBO/Slice Orchestration)
Extensive experience in solution architecture & design of E2E OSS solution including Service Fulfillment, Service Assurance, CRM/Billing in 5G domain
Actively lead/drive technical discussions with network, software and infrastructure partners & vendors to describe/design the selected solution
Provide consultance support and provide feedback to optimize WAN transport networks and make security recommendations on large area network infrastructure
Configure/troubleshoot QOS involving policing, shaping, and queuing
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to the position; an additional 4 years of may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related experience in addition to education level
Experience troubleshooting and developing solutions with LAN/WAN protocols such BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
Experience in maintaining security on circuits, SATCOM, 5G, telecommunication transport
Experience configuring, monitoring and trouble-shooting IP/MPLS backbone network
Experience in developing standardized testing and cut over plans for WAN equipment, and installing and configuring WAN transport systems as directed
Experience establishing testing and remote monitoring procedures to ensure reliable operation of WAN transport in theater
Technical experience working on different network clouds technologies: teleco clouds, multi cloud (AWS & Azure) technology, hybrid-network, and on-premise networks
Experience reporting system and network issues for analysis and trending of bandwidth and network security incidents
Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding of Cisco IOS XE and XR, Routing protocols to include BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, Cisco Unified Communications manager, vSphere, performance management and maintenance
Experience with networking metrics for analysis to identify sub-standard performance remotely and locally, and analyzing metrics and recognizing sub-par network performance
Knowledge of AWS and Azure, OpenShift3/Kubernetes container orchestration platform preferred
Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT II and current CCNP, JNCIP or equivalent certification
Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
