Responsibilities
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients clearly and courteously.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in appropriate containers/tubes.
- Accurately label specimens and follow specific protocols.
- Answer phone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.
- Phlebotomy
- Customer service skills
- 2+ years of experience (1+ year in a hospital setting)
- Minimum of 6 months experience in specimen processing, using butterfly needles, and performing phlebotomy
- Data entry skills
- Fertility Clinic
- Monday - Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm
- Saturday: 8:00am-11:00am
