Mobile Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector
The Phlebotomist will draw blood from patients, identifying and labeling all drawn blood accurately for tests. The Phlebotomist may also collect urine. The Phlebotomist will take patient information, record documentation, monitor patient throughout the procedure, store samples as required and forward samples to the laboratory.
Shift and Hours
- Full Time
- Monday thru Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
At the discretion of the company and upon company and/or client needs:
- Schedules, including days of week, are subject to change upon shift or customer needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity
- Verify with patient what blood test will be performed
- Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending upon specific patient
- Make sure patient is calm and comfortable
- Monitor the patient for reactions
- Monitor and take patient vital signs and heart rate as needed
- Educate patient on immediate after care
- Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients
- Provide patient care and support
- Label drawn blood properly for testing and processing
- Centrifuge blood samples when necessary
- Enter patient information into database
- Maintain a clean and sanitary space, sterilize supplies properly
- Process and update required records and documentation
- Ensure patient confidentiality

- Ability to work independently without supervision, meet deadlines and be flexible
- Able to follow written and oral instructions efficiently and effectively
- Excellent listening and communication skills, strong organizational and teamwork skills
- Must be dedicated to exceptional customer service
- Must be able to multi task and be detail oriented
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Technician certificate or license from The National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health career Association (NHA), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or the American Medical Technologists (AMT), preferred
- Must know, understand and follow HIPPA regulations
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
- Ability to work agreed upon schedule
- Must be punctual and dependable for assigned shifts
- Maintain professionalism always while working at client facility: Do not discuss any CCHS business with client’s staff
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend at the waist, squat
- Ability to work with hand, see and hear
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs
Conditions of Employment
- Contingent upon a favorable pre-employment drug screen
- Contingent upon a favorable driving record check and background check
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
