Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor/Manager is responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting management, assisting in the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines, and formulating internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with legislation and established best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
$70,000 - $85,000 a year
$120-140k/yr OTE (They are given weekly bonuses. Bonuses are based on company performance and how much metal the company produces)
The Accounting Supervisor/Manager is responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting management, assisting in the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines, and formulating internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with legislation and established best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support key areas of accounting management, including billing, tax forms, and financial reporting.
- Assist in the creation of internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and accounting best practices.
- Help prepare financial statements in accordance with official guidelines and requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy of journal entries, invoices, and other financial documents.
- Prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Contribute to budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Supervise payroll and general accounting teams.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities across multiple departments.
- Assist in developing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Help document and implement new accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for process automation using tools like RPA, Power BI, etc.
- Drive efficiency and consistency within Blackline (reconciliation software).
- Assist in documenting current and future state workflows for new ERP implementation to improve process efficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS regulations.
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software.
- Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple activities and projects while effectively communicating results.
- Experience in public accounting.
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA.
